A Lo Maracucho
About Tacos Tacuba
If you’re near the Salt Lake City airport, don’t miss one of Utah’s most authentic Mexican dining experiences: Tacos Tacuba. Step inside and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Mexico City. From its iconic metro train car to the vibrant atmosphere inspired by the city’s street food culture, every detail is designed to bring a piece of Mexico closer to home.
Even renowned food creators from Mexico have made the trip to Tacos Tacuba, drawn by the reputation of its remarkably authentic Mexico City flavors.
The Culture Behind the Flavor
A Lo Maracucho brings the street food of Maracaibo to Herriman: stuffed arepas, patacones, and tequeños straight out of the fryer. Venezuelan breakfasts, with shredded-beef empanadas and strong drip coffee, explain the early opening hour. They also make pabellón criollo (shredded beef with black beans, rice, and fried plantain) and cachapas for anyone who wants a fuller plate. It’s a small family business, and the valley’s Venezuelan community keeps it busy.
