The Culture Behind the Flavor
El Matador in Bountiful opened its doors in 1974 and belongs to a family that has been feeding Utah for more than half a century. The kitchen does old-school Tex-Mex: cheese-baked enchiladas, chimichangas, tostadas, and heaping combination plates with rice and beans. The room has kept the decor and the feel of a 1970s restaurant, which its customers count as a feature. It’s a multigenerational Davis County classic.
